• Matt: Members Only jacket? Matt, what are you doing? And the date was painful. You guys might not know this about me, but I have a massive embarrassment squick, so I was watching all the date scenes peeking through my fingers and wincing for Saracen pretty much the whole way through. How much did I love Julie's first outfit? Words can't even describe it. It was so impractical and so obviously desgined to sweep Matt off his feet. AND THE KISS, OMG. Outstanding.

• The Taylors: "At least she's not interested in a serial killer, or the Rigginses." "You want me to be Buddy Garrity's yang?" I vote that the Taylors be comic relief every week.


• Smash: Smash's change in attitude about his father was interesting. In the Pilot, he stopped the reporter from asking about his father, and here he's the one asking his mother about him. The scene at the cemetary was really well done by Gaius Charles.


• Lyla: Lyla's arc in this episode made me feel a bit more sympathy with her than I have before. Sure, baked goods aren't exactly the best way to go, but it's what she knows. And she handled the hissing and pitchforks with grace. Her scene with Buddy really did it, though (Buddy Garrity has a heart? The end of the world is nigh!) "I was unfaithful." Such an old-fashioned use of the phrase, particularly as they're not married.

• Tyra: Y'all, them0rgue has brought it to my attention that some people don't like Tyra. And to those people I say, what is wrong with you? Tyra is made of snarky, bitchy awesomecakes. Her scenes with Jason at the Rehab Centre were fun and easy and hot like fiyah! I might have a het OTP, at this rate.
