- Nathan: NATHAN IS THE FATHER, PEOPLE. AWESOME DOES NOT EVEN BEGIN TO COVER IT.
Ahem. *breathes slowly* Okay. Tim Kring, you rule hardcore. Petrellicest in all flavours. :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D
I wasn't happy about the severe lack of Nathan in the episode, but the poster of Nathan behind Peter and Claude while they were arguing was priceless. - Peter and Claude: Heeheeheehee! He threw Peter off the building and clocked him! Already, I love Claude best after the Petrellis. I wasn't at all excited about him before, beyond Eccleston playing him ("Lots of countries have a North!" Oh, Ninth Doctor, I love you...), but I can so see the love now.
Bennett clearly knows who he is. So that's why he's a hermit, not his bullshit reasons to Peter.
Loved Peter's defence of his loved ones; he wouldn't be Peter if he didn't do it. - Claire: NATHAN'S THE FATHER! (I really will stop now.) It'll be interesting to see what they'll do with the family dynamics. Nathan would really take to having a smart, sucessful daughter like Claire, after the initial resistance: she's clever and resourceful enough, at sixteen, to play innocent to her father, she's a good student. Cannot wait to see it. He'd probably fight it for a while, but once he identifies her as family, he'll go the whole hog in terms of keeping her safe.
I really liked the casting of the mother. She looks a lot like Hayden, so that helps. And she and Claire actually bonded, which was great. Her pyrophilia makes me wonder if she inadvertantly started the fire, though. - Nikki and Jessica: Nikki needs to stop looking perpetually harassed; it's boring. Jessica, on the other hand, is fun to watch. God help me, I never thought I'd say this, but Ali Larter is bringing it. That scene, where Jessica first appears? Ali's grin was enough to make me feel worried. Very effective.
- Hiro: The Hiro storyline bored me this week. George Takei was great, as was the actress playing Kimiko, but I just couldn't get into it. the entire subplot felt too tacked-on, and it was resolved fr too neatly: "Need a replacement, father? How about my conveniently-placed sister?" I hope for better next week.
