Friday Night Lights 1x07: Homecoming
OH MY SHOW.
Just when I think I couldn't possibly love you any more, you come up with an episode like this.
Tim, why on earth would you dry out at Lyla's say-so? I mean, it's a good thing he is, but honestly. She pouts at him once and that's it? I want my bad boy back, dammit! I was promised a bad boy!
The Jason and Lyla scene in the pool was surprisingly tender. It's so much easier to hate Lyla and Tim for cheating when you don't see how much they obviously care for Jay.
Damn, does Tyra have chemistry with EVERYONE? Tim, Billy, even Jason... She is indeed a tall glass of water. Bring on Billy/Tyra! I will say, though, that it's a bit unrealistic for her not to know about Tim's family history after having dated him for a year. Dillon's a small town, so even if he hadn't told her, she would have found out.
Jason Street: still my hero. He really just wanted to go and support the team, despite everything. That's class.
This was the first episode where I didn't 100% agree with Coach Taylor. It was clear from the locker room scene that Smash needed a little bit of a pep talk, and Coach just didn't deliver. I can't help but wonder, if it were Saracen or Street in the locker, someone he had formed a one-to-one bond with, would he have hesitated to go in there? Uncool, Coach. Uncool. Aww, Smash, honey. Don't do it!
YAY, Matt and Julie, finally! Some movement on that front is always good.
And last, but certainly not least: Tim proposed to his boyfriend! With aringfootball and everything. And in front of everybody! I have much love in my heart.
In conclusion? Get people to watch this show. Pimp far and wide! Pre-emptive Season 2 campaign, guys, we have to think ahead!
